Being a Rockies fan in the past few seasons has been hard. 2018 was the last time the Rockies had a winning percentage above .500.

The word 'record' hasn't really been associated with the franchise recently, but despite another rough season to this point, the Rockies managed to set an MLB best for the 2026 season in a major stat on Sunday.

Rockies set impressive MLB record for 2026 season, despite having the worst record

On Sunday night, the Rockies played the A's in the last game of the series.

Colorado entered the night with a 26-45 record, which puts them in dead last among all 30 MLB teams this season.

However, they decided to flip the script for at least last night's game, and scored 23 runs against the A's.

That total puts the Rockies in first place this season for the most runs scored by a team in a regular-season game in 2026.

It's also the most runs the team has scored in franchise history, beating their former mark of 20 runs, which they had in a game two seasons ago.

This might just have been an outlier result for the team, but it's certainly a bright spot in a season that hasn't had many positives so far.
