Brooks Furney scored the opening goal to put the Tigers up 1-0 with 8:39 remaining in the first quarter, but the Ponies bounced back to take a 2-1 edge on goals by Brady Schneider and Keiran Jones en route to a 3-2 lead heading into a seven-goal  second quarter that saw Stillwater take a 7-5 advantage into halftime.

The scoring spigot was almost completely shut off after the break, with only Farmington’s AJ Vinar and Stillwater’s Robert Appert IV netting goals in the third period.

Unfortunately for the Ponies, Appert’s tally proved to be their final score of the season.

Conversely, the Tigers roared to life in the concluding quarter. Farmington surged to tie Stillwater 8-8 on strikes by Vinar and Furney, before Will Harris recorded what proved to be the championship-clinching goal with 9:35 left in the final frame.
