Countless celebrities went to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Friday to witness the U.S. men’s national team’s sensational 4-1 win over Paraguay in the first men’s FIFA World Cup match played on U.S. soil since 1994.

Canada, Mexico, and the United States have a theoretical edge as host nations, but Brazil fans are doing their best to replicate home field advantage for the Canarinho. No nation has won more men’s World Cup titles historically than Brazil’s five, so Brazil and Morocco‘s match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday was also a celebrity magnet.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and New York Governor Kathy Hochul sat together, while Travis Scott lost his mind when Vinicius Junior rocketed the equalizer in the 32nd minute. Anitta, Zoey Deutch, and Marina Ruy Barbosa also took in the match together.

But so long as we’re on U.S. soil, all eyes are always on Tom Brady.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl winner, has transitioned into a FOX broadcaster in his post-NFL life. FOX cameras were trained on him throughout his MetLife outing, from catching him and Scott greeting Neymar pre-match to panning over to Brady and his 13-year-old daughter, Vivian, just in time to capture their secret handshake in the first half.

Neymar, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, was unavailable to play in the match due to a lingering calf injury, so he was just another celebrity taking in the match. Before kickoff, Thierry Henry was perplexed by his “aura,” and Brady posted a video to his Instagram Story showing his interaction with Neymar alongside the message, “Today’s match has all the stars on and off the pitch.”

Brady posted a photo of his view of MetLife alongside three Brazilian flag emojis. His became a fan of Brazil through his 13-year marriage to his ex-wife, the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, with whom he shares Vivian and Benjamin. They announced their divorce in October 2022.

It was additionally a momentous day for Brady — “one of the proudest days of my life,” according to his Instagram caption — because his oldest son, Jack, 18, graduated from high school.
