The teams face in a best-of-three series in the super regionals of the 2026 NCAA baseball tournament The first game will begin at 3 p.m. ET, June 5 at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The series remains there for Game 2 on Saturday, June 6, and concludes Sunday with a deciding Game 3, if necessary.
The Tar Heels post a record of 48-11-1, while the Trojans are 47-16.
USC emerged as the winner of the College Station Regional double-elimination round. It started off rocky as Southern Cal was defeated by Texas State after a go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth from Aggies' third baseman Chase Mora, bringing in Justin Vossos on May 29.
USC bounced back to save their season, routing Lamar University, 19-6, in the elimination bracket on May 30. The same day, Texas A&M blew out Texas State, 17-2. The Bobcats loss set up a May 31 rematch with USC, as winner would play a double-header with the Aggies waiting. The Trojans plotted their revenge, waxing Texas State, 15-4.
The Trojans were crowned regional winners after consecutive blowout victories against Texas A&M in back-to-back days. USC won, 14-3, on May 31. And then, 8-1, on June 1. The Tar Heels have been the host of their Chapel Hill Regional and came out on top moving past VCU in a 8-0 shutout win, then consecutive wins against East Carolina.
