In a blockbuster Game 1, the New York Knicks have earned another victory on the road. This marks their 12th consecutive victory in this postseason. Superstar guard Jalen Brunson had a tremendous fourth quarter, but he ultimately gave his team the credit for the victory.

The Knicks did a good job of limiting San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama, holding him to 28.6% from the field. Brunson did well with his 30 points, but it was a well-rounded team effort from New York.

Jalen Brunson points to the Knicks' chemistry as the reason for Game 1 win

Brunson was superb in the fourth quarter, as he lived up to his reputation of being a clutch player. He scored 13 points, making five of his nine shots. It was a fantastic seven-minute stint that resulted in the win.

He did not have the best performance despite scoring 30 points overall. Brunson had to take 31 shots to get those points, but it did not matter because the rest of the team stepped up.

Karl-Anthony Towns, in particular, was spectacular. He had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, but his defense on Wembanyama was excellent. Overall, his performance was filled with high-energy plays and physicality, which helped him beat Wembanyama.

"Wasn't really my night most of the night, but we kept finding a way, kept chipping away, we showed how resilient we are tonight," Brunson said about the Knicks' gusty Game 1 win.

"Honestly, our chemistry. Just knowing that we have each other's backs. There are a lot of x's and o's things we could've done better, but our togetherness really made a difference."

As the series progresses, the Knicks will continue to have this excellent chemistry. They play well together, and that is apparent in how they keep getting gusty wins. It will be difficult to keep winning against this Spurs team, but the Knicks are ready.
