The 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline will be here on Aug. 3. Rumors have already started to pick up around the league as well as endless speculation.
With that being said, here are the 10 stars fans around the league should have their eyes on.
Tarik Skubal — Detroit Tigers
Skubal has been incredible when he has been on the mound. The lefty logged a 2.70 ERA in his first seven starts of the season before landing on the Injured List. He has started facing hitters and should be back soon.
Jarren Duran — Boston Red Sox
Another year of trade rumors for the Red Sox's star outfielder. Duran hasn't been great offensively to kick off the season, but he still has a few years of control left and is dynamic when he's at his best.
Sandy Alcántara — Miami Marlins
Another guy who has been talked about as a trade candidate for a few years at this point. Alcántara was red-hot to kick off the season, but has cooled off of late. Still, he can help a contender's starting rotation.
Isaac Paredes — Houston Astros
Paredes was a big-time trade candidate this past offseason with ties to the Boston Red Sox, but a deal didn't get done. Now, the Astros should look to make a move again.
Christian Walker — Houston Astros
The Astros are in all sorts of trouble this season. Walker is having a bounce-back season, though. He's a three-time Gold Glove Award winner and has been very good offensively so far this season. He should be on the move.
Dustin May — St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals signed May to a one-year deal with a mutual option for the 2027 season. He started the season off slowly, but has turned things around and has looked like his old self.
JoJo Romero — St. Louis Cardinals
Another guy from St. Louis who could be on the move. Romero is going to be a free agent after the season.
Luis Arraez — San Francisco Giants
Arraez is putting together another great year offensively. He has also been elite defensively. The Giants have been bad and need to cash in.
Kenley Jansen — Detroit Tigers
The Tigers are all sorts of a mess. Jansen hasn't been great this season, but he is one of the best overall closers in big league history.
Freddy Peralta — New York Mets
The Mets are another team that has been all sorts of a mess this season. Peralta will be a free agent after the season and trade buzz already has begun.
