Texas A&M freshman garners 'a lot of buzz' after 10th spring practice
· Yahoo Sports
Texas A&M's 2026 signing class is considered one of the most talented defensive cycles in recent memory, as freshman cornerback Brandon Arrington led the class as the top-ranked recruit, while defensive linemen Tristian Givens and Bryce Perry-Wright also possess high NFL potential. All three players are more than talented enough to see the field this fall.
On Thursday, coach Mike Elko and his staff led the Aggies on the field for their 10th spring practice, and while starting quarterback Marcel Reed and transfer edge Anto Saka were the only players who spoke after practice, GigEm247 beat writer Carter Karels noted that Bryce Perry-Wright, whose versatility and high motor stood out on Thursday, and given the offseason losses of veteran defensive linemen Albert Regis and Tyler Onyedim, the freshmen could easily crack the lineup.

However, with senior defensive lineman DJ Hicks returning for a final season, the former five-star prospect will look to lead the DL room for the first time in his career, now joined by transfer linemen CJ Sims and Angelo McCullum, who have yet to "flash" in spring practice.
Still, it's way too early to determine how well this group gels heading into the summer and eventually, fall camp, but if Bryce Perry-Wright, who is officially measured at 6'2" and 253 pounds, continues to impress before and during the annual Maroon & White Spring Game on April 18, Texas A&M's defensive line rotation will features a heavy rotation that values speed and athleticism.
One freshman who has gotten a lot of buzz this spring and impressed in practice today is Bryce Perry-Wright. Would not be surprised if he ends up getting valuable playing time this fall.
