The Indianapolis Colts' offense is looking in good shape ahead of the 2026 season, but the unit could always do with more weapons for Daniel Jones.

Alec Pierce was signed to a huge extension, which meant Michael Pittman Jr. had to be moved on, and now the Colts don't really have a quality No. 2 weapon.
Could that be Josh Downs? Maybe.
But Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano has named the Colts as a potential landing spot for one All-Pro receiver, and I don't mind it -- Deebo Samuel.
“Samuel hasn’t made the same impact he did in his All-Pro 2021 season, but taking fewer snaps in the backfield likely added a few extra years to his career,” Manzano wrote. “The 30-year-old only had 17 carries last season and was asked to do more as a receiver due to the injuries to No. 1 wideout Terry McLaurin and star quarterback Jayden Daniels, who only played in seven games.
“He’s not as dynamic as he once was. Still, it bodes well that his route-running skills and reliable hands led to him recording 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns in 2025.”

Samuel a chance to be a Colt?
For the purpose of this exercise, it is certainly one to think about.
Samuel still produced over 700 receiving yards last year in Washington, so the production is there. Plus, he won't break the bank to sign, something that will make a move for him enticing.
The question is whether the Colts see him as a fit.
With Jonathan Taylor and Pierce, the two big weapons, Samuel would need to be content with possibly being the third or fourth option (if Downs improves).
Either way, adding Samuel has value; it is just a question of whether the Colts see it as enough value to pick up the phone.
