Tennessee (16-12, 8-8 SEC) is preparing for the SEC Tournament. The Lady Vols will open tournament play on Thursday against the winner between No. 11 seed Alabama (21-9, 7-9 SEC) and No. 14 seed Missouri (16-15, 4-12 SEC).
Following senior day versus Vanderbilt on Sunday at Food City Center to conclude regular-season basketball play, redshirt senior guard Kaiya Wynn announced Tuesday she was leaving Tennessee’s basketball program.

"As someone who has never started a career game, l was hoping to start in my last appearance in Thompson-Boling,” Wynn announced on social media. “That obviously did not happen, and to be asked to check into the game with 15 seconds left while losing was not how I wanted to spend my final moments in my arena after five years.
“Although that was not the sole reason, it was the breaking point for me. I have the utmost love and respect for my teammates and this program and wish everyone nothing but the best."
On Wednesday ahead of playing in the SEC Tournament, second-year head coach Kim Caldwell discussed Wynn’s comments and leaving the Lady Vols.
“I haven't really dove into the public conversation about it,” Caldwell said. “We'll miss her. She was loved in this program, and again, we respect her decision, but we kind of have to turn the page focus on the SEC Tournament.”
