2027 NFL Draft: 5 prospects for the Steelers to track this season

· Yahoo Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to head into the 2027 NFL Draft with several spots on the roster vacant due to free agency and salary cap considerations. This means when the Steelers go on the clock in the first round, there are going to be several top prospects at multiple positions to pick from.

Here are five draft prospects at the top of our watchlist for the Steelers this season.

DT David Stone - Oklahoma

If the Steelers don't re-sign Keeanu Benton, we love Oklahoma's David Stone as his replacement. Stone is a wrecking ball in the middle of the defense and will remind Steelers of former Pittsburgh defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.

S KJ Bolden - Georgia

We expect major changes to the safety depth chart next offseason and that could include releasing Jalen Ramsey. Georgia's KJ Bolden is a very similar type of player and a guy who can have a significant impact at safety and cornerback.

EDGE Quincy Rhodes Jr. - Arkansas

Don't let the position fool you, Rhodes is 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds with a frame that can hold more weight. As a potential replacement for Cam Heyward, Rhodes is the type of big defensive end who is strong enough to set the edge but has more than enough athleticism to rush the passer and chase and tackle.

WR Ryan Wingo

We aren't sold that the tandem of DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. are both in this for the long haul and wide receiver could be a top priority. With Germie Bernard as the all-purpose guy on the roster, we want to watch Ryan Wingo who is a pure big-play guy who can work deep and is electric with the football in his hands.

CB Ashton Hampton

If the Steelers can't come to terms with Joey Porter Jr. we are going to keep a close eye on Clemson's Ashton Hampton as a replacement. Hampton has elite size and athleticism and plays with exceptional technique and tons of confidence.
