Shams Charania reported that the 34-year-old has accepted Atlanta’s $21 million offer for a one-year deal.

The news came through McCollum’s agent, Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports Management, who confirmed the decision to ESPN.

Charania also reported that the agreement includes a trade kicker, adding another significant detail to the guard’s short-term future.

McCollum averaged 18.7 points, 3.9 assists and shot 37.5% from three during the regular season, showing he can still space the floor and punish defensive gaps.

The Hawks eventually fell 4-2 to the champion Knicks in the first round of the playoffs.

However, the series was more competitive than the final result suggests. Atlanta won Games 2 and 3 by one point each before New York pulled away, both with outstanding displays from the veteran.

His shot-making and poise were important in keeping Atlanta alive during that early stretch against Mike Brown’s side.
