What is CTE and Why is it So Dangerous?
CTE stands for chronic traumatic encephalopathy and is considered a degenerative brain disease found in individuals with a history of repetitive head injuries.
Sadly, the disease has become all too common in football players, prompting stricter regulation around head impacts and more awareness around the ill effects of head trauma.
That being said, many believe not enough is being done to counter the negative impacts around concussions, with pressure mounting on organizations like the NFL to do more to safeguard athletes and their well-being.
