On Thursday, two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani was forced to exit the club's contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates with what the team called "left knee inflammation."

"Dodgers Justin Wrobleski left the game with a right hamstring contusion and Shohei Ohtani left the game with left knee inflammation," the Dodgers announced.

Before leaving, he was 2-for-2 with a homer and two walks against Pittsburgh.

The severity of the knee injury has not been shared as of writing. But the club certainly is holding its breath. Ohtani is the difference between the Dodgers competing for another title this season, or them just being another good team out there. That's how good Ohtani is. Plus, the Dodgers are missing stars left and right on the Injured List. The reason why Los Angeles has been able to get through has been in large part because Ohtani has been healthy and thriving.

Ohtani is having the best season of his career so far on the mound. Even the Dodgers can't afford to lose many more pieces.
