The Broncos selected edge rusher Que Robinson in the 4th round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the talented rookie quickly impressed the Broncos coaching staff. He only appeared in 6 games last year, but he flashed his pass-rush potential with sacks of Patrick Mahomes and Drake Maye, which had defensive coordinator Vance Joseph believing Robinson looked like a future starter.

Head Coach Sean Payton told reporters that they saw a lot of special teams snaps from Robinson last season and that he has all the traits you look for and that he’s doing well so far in year two with the Broncos.

I will have my player profile on Robinson drop tomorrow, but I am a big fan of him and his potential. He has the size, length, athleticism, burst, natural bend, and talent you look for in an edge rusher; he just needs to put it all together. At Alabama, he flashed that potential at times while also being a standout special teams player. The Broncos saw the same flashes and potential last season from him, and I believe we could see him take a big jump in year two with the Broncos.

It’s clear that Robinson has impressed the Broncos coaching staff. He had a good day of practice today; Joseph said he looked like a future starter, and earlier in the offseason, General Manager George Paton told reporters that Robinson had the highest potential of all the rookies in their 2025 draft class.

Then [OLB] Que [Robinson], he may have the most upside of anyone in our draft class, and you could see it the other day. He’s long, he’s athletic. He can run and is really good in the run game. He’s just learning how to rush, just learning to rush the passer, but has all the traits. Then you see what he does on special teams. We’re really encouraged with him”

The Broncos edge rushing room is deep, with Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper as your starters. We’ll see if the league hands down any punishment for Cooper’s off-the-field issues, but for now, we can pencil him and Bonitto in as the Broncos starters at edge rusher. Then you have Jonah Elliss and Dondrea Tillman, who have all made plays during their time with the Broncos. So, Robinson will need to continue to impress if he wants to move up the depth chart and force the Broncos to give him more and more snaps. So far, it sounds like he is on his way to do that, but he will need to continue this throughout the summer, especially when the pads come on during camp and then into the preseason.

I personally see a potential 10+ sack player in Que Robinson who could start taking some pass rush snaps away from Jonathon Cooper. He did see limited snaps last season, but when he was out there, he was always making plays. He sacked Patrick Mahomes in the Broncos’ thrilling victory over the Chiefs at home and then sacked Drake Maye in the AFC Championship. He made many more plays in between that, and I believe we will see him make more and more plays moving forward.

Robinson is on my list of breakout players for the Broncos, and I am excited to hear that he is already gaining momentum early in Broncos OTA practices.
