At this point, Pope Leo XIV's inexorable ties to Chicago sports fandom are well-documented. There's a photo of him taking in the Chicago White Sox's 2005 World Series win. He engaged in a White Sox chant while at the Vatican. He's even happily received some timely Chicago Bears clothing gifts.

So, it should be no surprise to learn that the head of a religion with roughly 1.4 billion people is also apparently well aware of the Bears' ongoing negotiations for a final location for a new stadium (that may or may not ever happen). And I'd have to safely guess he's just as frustrated by all the bumbling, fumbling, and stumbling as any other Bears fan.

Dearest readers, that's just the extremely weird timeline we live in.

Pope Leo's awareness of the Bears' stadium shenanigans was alleged by Illinois State Representative Kam Buckner in an appearance on CHGO Bears.
