The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff is awaiting word on where top transfer Milan Momcilovic is headed, but they’re also working hard to get high school recruits on campus for official visits.
Top-10 high school recruit Ryan Hampton is set to take an official visit to Kentucky this week, on June 5-7, according to Rivals’ Joe Tipton. Hampton, who is Rivals’ No. 6-ranked recruit in the class of 2027, has had a lot of good buzz around his name, and the Wildcats are firmly in the mix, as are LSU, SMU, and Nebraska.

There was chatter about Hampton reclassifying to 2026 to play college basketball this upcoming season, but the Rockwall, Texas, native said he’ll be staying in the class of 2027 as he plays his high school basketball at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard has a highly skilled offensive game, averaging 21 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while leading his AAU team, Nightrydas, to an undefeated 4-0 record at EYBL Kansas City.
Hampton is the younger brother of RJ Hampton, whom John Calipari recruited heavily out of high school, who ultimately took the overseas route to play basketball.
Hampton has been on Mark Pope and the Wildcats radar for quite some time now. Alvin Brooks, who left the UK this past offseason, was leading Hampton’s recruitment before he left for NC State as an assistant coach under Justin Gainey. Mo Williams has since taken over Hampton’s recruitment.
