After years of being a .500 team, the San Francisco Giants were looking to change that this season, and they have, just not in the way the fans had hoped.

The team currently sits near the basement of the NL West with their 23-36 record, just a game and a half over the Colorado Rockies, who sit in last place in the division.

While it would have been tough to keep up with the likes of the Los Angeles Dodgers this year, they have already created a 15-game hole behind the division leaders, which is quite the gap to try to recover from.

The Giants certainly did not help their case this past week. They were swept in a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and then could only get one win in their three-game series against the Colorado Rockies over the weekend.

There's not much hope for this club to turn things around. And with this, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter tags the Giants as the second-worst team across MLB in his latest power rankings.

"The Giants have tumbled all the way to the bottom of the National League with a 5-12 record in their last 17 games, and things might get worse before they get any better. They have gone just 11-20 away from Oracle Park this year and have seven games left on their current road trip. At least ace Logan Webb is back healthy, as he made his first start since May 5 on Friday."

Now, if fans are looking for something positive, ace Logan Webb is back in the rotation. He was placed on the 15-day IL with right knee bursitis, missing a few series last month.

Webb looked solid in his return, going 4.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out five. Expect him to go a little deeper in his next start as he looks to knock the rust off.
