Southern Miss baseball vs Virginia start time moved to 1 p.m., two hours earlier

Southern Miss baseball's elimination game against Virginia on May 30 at Pete Taylor Park has been moved up two hours and will now start at 3 p.m. CT due to expected rain in the late afternoon.

The No. 1 seed Golden Eagles (44-16) and the No. 2 seed Cavaliers (36-22) lost on the first day of the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional. Southern Miss lost to Little Rock 7-4 while Virginia fell to Jacksonville State 15-7.
The second game on May 30 between No. 3 seed Jacksonville State (47-13) and No. 4 seed Little Rock (37-26) is still expected to begin at 8 p.m.
No announcement was made regarding the schedule on May 31, but as it stands now, the winner between Southern Miss and Virginia will play the loser of Jacksonville State and Little Rock at 3 p.m.
The Golden Eagles' game against Little Rock on May 29 was also moved up due to weather.
