Flores, who was Miami's head coach from 2019-21 was fired following a 9-8 season. Shortly after, he filed a class-action lawsuit against the NFL and several teams across the league alleging racial discrimination.

The 46-year-old claimed that he was participating in sham interviews for teams to comply with the league's Rooney Rule, which required hiring teams to interview a pair of minority candidates before making their decision.

Flores also alleged that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross pressured the coach to lose games, offering $100,000 for each game lost to better their chances at a higher draft pick. Miami also allegedly asked Flores to tamper with future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady before his free agency.

Ross and Dolphins vice chairman Bruce Beal were both fined and suspended, while the team lost a pair of draft picks for tampering with Brady and former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton following an investigation.

"The NFL must now accept that its commissioner cannot be the arbitrator over discrimination claims against the league and its teams. We look forward to litigating these claims in court," Flores' attorneys said in a statement.
