· Yahoo Sports
The 2027 recruiting class for the Oregon Ducks has mostly been made on the defensive side of the ball. That trend could continue as the Ducks prepare for their first weekend of official visits for recruits.

Three-star linebacker Drew Williams picked up an offer from Oregon nearly a month ago, and now he has named the Ducks among his final four in his recruitment. The 6-foot-2 is the No. 8 player at his position in the state of Georgia. He named Oregon, Florida, Miami and Kentucky as his finalists.

Kentucky has been leading the charge for Williams for some time, but Oregon's quick ascent in the recruiting race could lead to a commitment. The Ducks will be the first of Williams' finalists to get him on campus. He will be in Eugene on the weekend of May 29 alongside Oregon's three-star linebacker commit Sam Ngata, the son of former Duck and NFL star Haloti Ngata. Four-star linebacker target Toa Satele will also visit that weekend.
The Ducks are the farthest team from home for Williams, but he has quickly built a relationship with the coaching staff. Linebackers coach Brian Michalowski has led the effort on the recruiting trail for the Peach State star, and the Ducks are hoping to become the frontrunner in the race after his official visit.
Williams racked up 135 tackles, 20 quarterback pressures and five sacks as a junior at Sequoyah High School in Canton, Georgia. The Ducks have recruited well at linebacker recently, but Oregon has often relied on under-the-radar players in the middle of the defense. Williams is a tackling machine, much like Oregon's last two middle linebackers, Bryce Boettcher and Jeffrey Bassa.
After coming to Oregon, Williams is scheduled to take official visits to Kentucky (June 12) and Florida (June 18). Oregon has the No. 10 class nationally, per Rivals, and has a pair of linebackers committed. Alongside Ngata, four-star linebacker Brandon Lockley Jr. committed in late April to make the trip from Philadelphia to Eugene. Time will tell if Williams is the next commit to cross the country.
