South River's Hunter Krainski voted Baseball Player of the Week
· Yahoo Sports
While Hunter Krainski surely has impressive baseball skills, his worth to South River on the diamond goes far beyond his talented right arm and bat speed.
The senior is an all-around leader for the Rams, which won the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division pennant. The pitcher/third baseman was a big part of that success and optimism for the upcoming postseason.

Fans rewarded Krainski by voting him the MyCentralJersey Readers Choice Player of the Week in an online poll open to the public.
He had a huge week going 7-for-12 in four games with 10 RBIs and scored six runs. In a key 11-6 win over Piscataway that clinched the division title, Krainski was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and went the distance on the mound with nine strikeouts.
Krainski, who played his first two seasons at St. Thomas Aqunias, is hitting .448 (26-for-58) with 23 RBIs, 27 runs scored and 17 walks. He lashed out 10 extra base hits with six doubles, two triples and two home runs. On the mound, he has a 2.55 ERA with 44 strikeouts in 35 2/3 innings for the Rams (15-5).
“What has impressed me mostly about Hunter, besides being a great player, is his growth and maturity over the last year,” South River coach Mike Lepore Jr. said. “Hunter has been a great teammate and leader for us and has adapted nicely into becoming a South River Ram. He has greatly contributed for us in all three aspects of the game – hitting, defense and pitching.”
