Northeast Frontier Railway Revises Timings to Enhance Speed and Punctuality

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has undertaken a comprehensive revision of the timings of several Mail/Express and passenger trains across its network with the objective of improving punctuality, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring faster services for passengers. The revised timings will be implemented from 27th April 2026 for most services, while certain trains will adopt the new schedule from 24th April and 28th April 2026.

The revision covers major divisions including Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, Lumding and Tinsukia, and includes a wide range of important train services. Several trains such as Farakka Express, Teesta Torsa Express, Kulik Express, Garib Nawaz Express, Paharia Express, Intercity Express and DEMU passenger services have undergone changes in their arrival and departure timings at multiple stations. These adjustments have been undertaken to enhance operational efficiency, improve punctuality and strengthen connectivity across different sections.
Among the major trains affected by the revision are 15743/15744 (Balurghat-Bhatinda - Balurghat) and 15733/15734 (Balurghat-Bhatinda - Balurghat) Farakka Express, 13063/13064 (Howrah–Balurghat - Howrah) Express, 13161/13162 (Kolkata–Balurghat - Kolkata) Tebhaga Express, 13053/13054 Howrah – Radhikapur - Howrah) Kulik Express, 15463/15464 (Balurghat – Haldibari – Balurghat) Intercity Express, 15716 (Ajmer –Kishanganj) Garib Nawaz Express, 15719/15720 (Katihar–Siliguri – Katihar) Intercity Express (via Barsoi), 15710/15709 (New Jalapaiguri-Malda Town - New Jalpaiguri) , 13141/13142 (Sealdah - New Alipurduar – Sealdah) Teesta Torsa Express, 75705/75706 (Siliguri - Radhikapur - Siliguri) DEMU Intercity Express and 15721/15722 (New Jalpaiguri–Digha - New Jalpaiguri) Paharia Express along with DEMU passenger and other connecting services.
Under the revised schedule, timings at several stations have been advanced to enable faster running and improved punctuality. For instance, at Ganga Rampur, timings have been preponed from 11:18/11:20 hours to 11:15/11:17 hours, while at Buniadpur, timings have been advanced from 11:05/11:07 hours to 10:58/11:00 hours. Similar speed-up adjustments have been implemented across multiple sections, resulting in reduced travel time, while timings at some stations remain unchanged to ensure minimal inconvenience.
