While the survey was up for less than a day, our poll received roughly 1,000 votes and produced the following results:
Let’s take a look at the comment section of our original survey for explanations of why fans assigned the grade they did (slightly edited for clarity).
- dansmarmite: “Grit Index wins again!! My mate Matt thinks the Grit List plays better when I initially mislabelled it. Well done for all your and Anthony’s hard work. Go Lions!!!”
- KC_WV: “Never discount the Grit index. They got younger and hungrier this off-season.”
- Jreid90: “Going to be a good, solid RT for a decade. Perfect Decker-like player for the right side.”
- GibbythecatO: “I voted A based on the Grit Index rank alone. I don’t think Lions’ picks that were too Grit Index players have been wrong yet.”
- My Uncle Richard Head: “This is a great pick. Can’t wait to see what Fraley does with the retooled O-line and kicking Sewell over to LT.”
- UlyssesNorris80: “They got their guy at the biggest position of need by letting the draft come to them. That has to be an A.”
- Big Kitty: “Honestly. This looks like a fantastic pick. Has everything you can’t teach, and correctable shortcomings.”
- Son of Sparticus: “So really an elite athlete at OT, Top Gritty OT, and no injury history other than a simple wrist surgery […] suggesting that he’s super durable. Sounds like a grand slam if you ask me. What 26% of responders were smoking, we may never know.”
- EncinoGirl: “A+++++++”
We appreciate all the votes and comments for this survey; Lions fans certainly showed up for this poll. And thanks to the good folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook, who currently list the Lions’ chances of winning the Super Bowl at +1700.
