Levi Colwill has been recovering from his knee injury for eight months now, and Sky Sports did a little feature following him around a day of training at Cobham.

It’s a nice reminder, more than anything, of how dull being an injured football would be.

Starting with massages and physio, going through the gym session with lots of plyometrics, then out onto the training pitch for some very basic drills, barely touching the ball.

No wonder Levi can’t wait to be fully integrated back into first team training. He says that now most days are “good days” where he’s happy – but earlier in the process it was one good day to every six bad days.

Colwill on the mental challenges of recovering from injuries

It’s really dark hearing Colwill talk about the psychological challenges of his injury. It sounds like he’s been through some really dark times and we’re delighted that he’s now so close to making a return to the pitch for the first team.

In other news…

Paul Merson has said that Chelsea would take a big risk in appointed Andoni Iraola because he would face the same challenges as Liam Rosenior.

Our predicted lineup for tonight’s game is here, with Liam Rosenior facing some really tough decisions.
