Vanderbilt basketball guard Tyler Tanner appeared in a video promoting the school's Giving Day campaign in which he asked fans to donate to the Competitive Excellence Fund and Vandy United.

"We are thankful for all that you do for our program. Anchor Down!" Tanner said in the video, which Vanderbilt men's basketball posted to X on April 16.

The video might provide a hint toward Tanner's future, as he has yet to announce whether he'll enter the 2026 NBA Draft or return to the Commodores for his junior season.

Tanner averaged 19.5 points, 5.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game in 2025-26, earning first-team All-SEC honors and leading Vanderbilt to its most wins since 1993 (27) and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound point guard is seen by most analysts as a late first-round or early second-round pick in the draft, which will take place June 23-24.

Underclassmen have until April 24 to declare for the draft. Once they declare, they'll have until June 13 to decide to remain in the draft or return to school.

Giving Day is Vanderbilt's largest annual fundraiser, while the Competitive Excellence Fund "fuels NIL support, recruiting, retention, and leadership infrastructure" per its webpage.

Vandy United is an initiative geared at upgrading the Commodores' athletic facilities across multiple sports. Launched in 2021, it has resulted in renovations to FirstBank Stadium and Hawkins Field as well as a new practice facility for men's and women's basketball.
