The Buffalo Bills have been rather quiet this offseason since trading for receiver DJ Moore to give Josh Allen a top weapon.
But there are a lot of eyes on what Buffalo will do in the upcoming NFL Draft. Some still think receiver is a need; others think more depth in the secondary; and, of course, there is a glaring hole at the edge.
The Bills, who pick late in the first round, will see a lot of the top defensive talent go off the board before it is their turn to pick, but in Gilberto Manzano's latest piece for Sports Illustrated, he gives each team's ideal draft selection, and when it came to the Bills, he's landed on Auburn's Keldric Faulk.
Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano:
"Faulk might be the biggest boom-or-bust prospect in this draft, so there’s a chance he’s available for the Bills at pick No. 26,” Manzano wrote. “Buffalo should bet on the upside of the imposing 6'6", 274-pound Auburn product to possibly give itself a dominant front, especially after the free-agent addition of Bradley Chubb.
“After losing the defensive mind of coach Sean McDermott, the Bills need more playmakers who can create on their own. A dominant defensive line could be the key to finally winning it all with Josh Allen.”

Are Bills 1 player away from Super Bowl contention?
Maybe. But if Faulk is the selection the Bills go with in the first-round, he will have to be a constant source of production for Jim Leonhard's defense.
For a rookie to come in and do that is tough, but there is a sense that Faulk could be anything in his NFL career, or, as Manzano stated, the biggest boom or bust prospect.
If Faulk booms, the Bills are well and truly in business with a genuine pass rusher to go collect quarterbacks' souls. But if he struggles, that isn't going to be good for the defense.
Allen needs all the help he can get, and in Faulk, the Bills might be taking a gamble here.
