High Stakes Poker’s Sam Kiki Responds to Binance Founder CZ’s Viral Pushup Challenge

· Yahoo Sports

Earlier this week, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, posted a video of himself doing pushups on X (formerly Twitter) that quickly racked up over 2.7 million views.

“Just tried it. Push-ups. Not proper form or speed, but the best I could do for now,” the tech mogul CZ wrote. “I am 49. I challenge you to do better.”

It didn’t take long for someone to answer.

Sam Kiki, the CEO of MonkeyTilt and a professional poker player, fired back on X with a video of his own. “Yo what’s up CZ, I’m Sam Kiki, aka Señor Tilt. I’m also a crypto founder,” he said. “I have a ton of respect for you.

“CZ’s so rich he paid my dog to interfere,” Kiki quipped after finishing. “We still got 83, baby. Let’s go.”

Ok @cz_binance you’re the GOAT in crypto but I think I got you in the push up game.

I see your 50 push ups and raise you to 83 (maybe 82.5)

First 100 people to post vid doing more can have $83 free play on @MonkeyTilt with only 1x play through.

Good luck everyone and thanks… https://t.co/MZNkx8aAVxpic.twitter.com/HGuCf3gWcb

For context, the average American male can do somewhere between 20 and 30 pushups in a single set. CZ managed around 50. Kiki hit 83 with a Doberman doing his best to distract him.

The challenge came with a sweetener. Kiki offered the first 100 people who post a video doing more than 83 pushups an $83 free play on MonkeyTilt, which has hit $200 million in monthly betting volume and raised $51 million from investors, including Pantera Capital and PokerGO.

“I’ve always believed that if you’re going to talk, you’ve got to back it up,” Kiki said in a statement. “CZ threw down the gauntlet, and I wasn’t about to let that slide. I just love a good challenge. Doesn’t matter if it’s at the poker table or on a gym floor with my dog trying to sabotage me.”

Kiki is no stranger to competitive moments. He currently holds both the largest single-day win and the most ever won across a full season in High Stakes Poker history, a feat no player has achieved simultaneously in the show’s 16 seasons. He’s also won roughly $424,500 off Kevin Hart in a single hand, and PokerGO CEO Brent Hanks has called him “the most dangerous recreational player on the planet.”

As of Thursday, CZ has yet to respond.
