One of the biggest races in the world, the 2026 Paris Marathon takes over the City of Light this weekend.

Every year, more than 50,000 participants take to the streets of the French capital for a race that unites athletes and supporters alike. The iconic course passes by many historic landmarks, including the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Palais Garnier and even the Eiffel Tower, making Paris a career-defining moment for many runners. 

Last year's race winners hailed from Kenya and Ethiopia — Benard Biwott crossed the finish line first on the men's side with a time of 2:05:25, while Bedatu Hirpa won the women's with 2:20:45.

The 2026 Paris Marathon will not be broadcast on traditional TV in the U.S. Instead, fans can stream the action live on Peacock.

Paris Marathon 2026 start time

The 2026 Paris Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. local time (CEST). This translates to 2 a.m. ET in North America.

Runners in this year’s Paris Marathon will begin their journey on the iconic Champs-Élysées and cross the finish line on Avenue Foch.

Along the way, participants will take in some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Palais Garnier, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower.

As in previous editions, the course winds through the scenic Bois de Vincennes and Bois de Boulogne. Notably, this year’s route features a few minor changes, including a new passage through Place de la Nation and a scenic loop around Lake Daumesnil.

Paris Marathon past winners

The course record for the men was set back in 2021 when Kenya's Elisa Rotich ran 2:04:21. For the women, Judith Jeptum Korir of Kenya set the record in 2022 with a time of 2:19:48.
