Now back on the court and helping lead the Celtics to the NBA playoffs, three days prior to the 11-month mark on Thursday will also be Tatum's first time playing at Madison Square Garden since going down with the injury.

The recent Eastern Conference Player of the Week discussed his upcoming return to the Mecca of basketball for Thursday night's game between Boston and the New York Knicks.

"Yeah, I’ve thought about it," Tatum said following Tuesday's win vs. the Charlotte Hornets, according to MassLive Celtics reporter Brian Robb. "I’m not like thrilled to go back and play there. Last time I played there obviously it was a traumatic experience for me."

Boston could clinch the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference for this year's NBA playoffs with a victory over New York.

"Obviously I knew at some point I would have to get over that hurdle and play there again. So, it’s gonna have to be this Thursday, but it’s not like I’m thrilled about it. But it’s part of it. I decided to come back and play so I’m not necessarily skipping certain games. I can’t play back-to-backs right now but I decided to come back and play so it’s just another game on the schedule," the six-time All-Star said, per Robb. "I was going to have to play here at some point, so I might as well get it out the way now."

Tatum's MVP candidate teammate Jaylen Brown is the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, which came on the heels of JT earning the honor on March 30.

Tatum was also nominated for the most recent award and is averaging 21.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game across 15 contests this season.
