Still, Baltimore entered the workouts with a big question mark. It’s no secret that two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson is not a fan of voluntary workouts. In 2025, he participated in just one of the team’s nine voluntary sessions.

But on Monday, the team posted video of Jackson arriving for the first workout.

There was uncertainty as late as Monday morning about whether Jackson would show up.

“I know Lamar’s excited. I think he is excited about some of the changes,” Minter said on March 31, per ESPN. “We’ve had a lot of good connection points, but the offseason program is voluntary. We’re excited to get a chance to work with all the guys, whoever wants to show up. We feel confident that a lot of guys will be there.”

The Ravens also posted videos of star running back Derrick Henry and newly acquired pass rusher Trey Hendrickson arriving for the first day of workouts.

Baltimore hired Minter, the Los Angeles Chargers’ defensive coordinator, on Jan. 22 to replace veteran head coach John Harbaugh. Minter brought in new coordinators in Declan Doyle (offense) and Anthony Weaver (defense).

The Ravens are implementing all new systems, making it crucial for players to be in the building as early as possible. Voluntary workouts for teams with new coaches began Monday. Other teams’ voluntary workouts begin April 20.

Ultimately, voluntary workouts focus on strength, conditioning and instruction, leading up to mandatory minicamps in June.

Jackson played through injuries hamstring, back and foot during the 2025 season. He started 13 games, completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Jackson rushed for a career-low 349 yards and two scores.

Finally, the Ravens are coming off an 8-9 season. They were poised to pull out an AFC North division title in the last week, but kicker Tyler Loop missed a 44-yard field goal that would have beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers.
