Shane Lowry has revealed his final preparation plans ahead of The Masters, with the Irishman set to make a trip to Augusta National.

And Lowry’s approach mirrors what Rory McIlroy had already done earlier this year.

Speaking after the Houston Open, Lowry confirmed he would be heading straight to Augusta to sharpen his game.
“Yeah, I guess to Augusta tonight for two days, and then I’ll go home for a few days’ practice and back up on Sunday,” he told reporters. “Yeah, excited. Exciting time.”

Lowry is not alone in using this method. Back in February, Rory McIlroy confirmed that he would also make a trip to Augusta ahead of the tournament.
“That’s coming up. I’m going to go up there and play with the chairman next week, actually, yeah.”
McIlroy’s visit saw him play alongside his father, Gerry, and Augusta chairman Fred Ridley, combining preparation with a memorable personal experience.
While McIlroy’s trip came earlier in his schedule and Lowry’s comes just days before the tournament, the intention is the same.
Both players are prioritising familiarity with Augusta National as they prepare for one of the most demanding tests in golf.
