Los Angeles sent Baltimore southpaw pitcher Jayvien Sandridge for cash considerations, via Angels PR. The Orioles drafted the Maryland native No. 955 overall out of high school in 2018 before they released him in 2020.
Sandridge then played college ball at Lynn University before signing with the Cincinnati Reds in 2021. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder rose to Double-A in 2023 before electing free agency after the season. He then signed with the San Diego Padres and rose to Triple-A in 2024 before signing with the New York Yankees the following offseason.
Sandridge logged 38 minor-league appearances with the Yankees in 2025, but finally made his MLB debut on July 5 against the New York Mets. He allowed two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts, two walks, and one hit batter over 0.2 innings in the 12-6 loss.
The Yankees then traded Sandridge to the Angels for cash considerations in January, and he allowed five earned runs over two spring training innings for the latter club. The 27-year-old has yet to pitch in the regular season this year.

Sandridge had a promising start to his professional career with Baltimore. The hurler went 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA over 18 Rookie League games in 2018, but his ERA ballooned to 5.54 over 11 Rookie League outings the following season.
Sandridge then didn't play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor-league season during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Orioles released him that May. Now, he'll get another chance to excel in the team's farm system and possibly get big-league work.
Baltimore entered Sunday 1-1 on the season, as it beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1 in Thursday's Opening Day matchup before losing 4-1 on Saturday. Sunday's rubber match at home served as right-handed pitcher Shane Baz's debut with the club after it acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays over the offseason. He allowed four runs in the second inning.
After Sunday, the Orioles will host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series before hitting the road to face the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox. Monday's game will start at 6:35 p.m. ET, with fellow offseason acquisition Chris Bassitt starting on the mound for Baltimore.
