Woman, man nabbed on drug charges after attempting to flee: Durham cops

A man and a woman face drugs charges after allegedly trying to flee from cops in Oshawa earlier this week.

Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a “suspicious vehicle” call in the area of Rosedale Ave. and Division St. – near Simcoe St. N. and Bond St. E. – shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday.

“A red sedan was observed travelling at a high rate of speed through multiple stop signs without stopping,” police alleged in a statement released Wednesday. “Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle failed to stop.”

Police said the vehicle was found “abandoned” a short time later.

“Officers searched the area and arrested the male and female suspects nearby without incident,” police said, adding “a quantity of drugs” was allegedly located inside the suspect vehicle.

Natasha Robitaille, 29, of no fixed address, is charged with failing to stop for police, dangerous operation of a conveyance, obstructing police, stunt driving, possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine), possession of a schedule I substance (crystal methamphetamine), possession of a schedule I substance (ecstasy), and breaching probation.

She was held for a bail hearing.

Joseph James Harley Crozier, 40, of Clarington, is charged with possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine), possession of a schedule I substance (crystal methamphetamine), and possession of a schedule I substance (ecstasy).

He was released on an undertaking.
