Recap

1st Inning

Bella Dimitrijeciv went 1-2-3 through the Syracuse lineup, turning the game over to her offense. Isa Torres led off with a bunt single, and stealing second base on a wild pitch from starter, Julianna Verni. Following Torres, Jaysoni Beachum went yard.

Bella Ruggiero and Kennedy Harp both got on base before Verni hit Anna Hinde to load the bases. With the bases loaded, Ashtyn Danley came up with the second homerun of the inning, but this time a grandslam.

3rd Inning

Syracuse went to Madison Knight in the circle for the third inning, and she got the first two outs. Shelby McKenzie faced off abasing Knight, and showed off some opposite field power to go up 7-0.

4th Inning

Back out in the 4th, Dimitrijevic had a one out baserunner off of a single. A second runner was on base after a walk, and Dimitrijevic was able to get the second out. A bloop single from Syracuse made it 7-1 before another single loaded the bases.

Marlee Gaskell came on in relief, and in a tough situation, she brought in a run on a bases loaded walk. On one swing, Syracuse made it a new ball game as a grand slam quickly made it 7-6.

5th Inning

Jazzy Francik entered in the 5th, taking over for Gaskell. She was able to keep her team in a one run lead heading into the bottom of the inning. Marin Heller also came up with some clutch defense.

Hinde reached on a single, before a infield pop up put one out on the board. Still facing Knight, Makenna Sturgis singled, and an error put runners on the corners. Syracuse executed another error on a routine fly ball, allowing the run to score, making it 8-6.

Another walk to Torres loaded the bases with two outs. Beachum stepped to the plate, and another mishandled bloop single fell into the outfield. With Syracuse trying to find the out, all three baserunners scored to make it 11-6.

6th Inning

Francik had traffic on the bases, after three singles. She was able to get two outs in between the hits, but still had the bases loaded of the Orange. A 3-2 count to the hitter went the ‘Noles way, as Francik painted the corners and caught her looking.

7th Inning

Francik and the defense only had one baserunner on a full count walk in the 7th inning. A pop up, strike out, and fly out ended the game, solidifying the sweep over Syracuse
