KYVÅG SENDS AC MILAN INTO THE LEAD, BEATING JUVENTUS 1-0

AC Milan secured a 1-0 win on the road at the Pozzo-La Marmora in Biella, beating Juventus on matchday 16 of Serie A Women Athora. After only earning one point from their last three games, including defeats to Roma and Fiorentina and a 2-2 draw with Lazio before the international break, the Rossonere were back to winning ways today thanks to Kyvåg's goal in the second half. In the first half, Bakker's side played with a high defensive line and were unable to convert a chance through Van Dooren. Then Estévez Ogalla, who was called up at the last minute to replace Giuliani, made her first appearance of the season and made a penalty save. Thea Kyvåg fired AC Milan into the lead early in the second half, and the Rossonere dominated the match until the very end.

It was an impressive performance from Bakker's girls, who make it two wins from two against Juventus this season after their victory in the reverse fixture. Estevez Ogalla made a real impact on her Rossonere debut, making a vital save to deny Stølen Godø's penalty. She carried herself with confidence throughout the few shots she faced and with the ball at her feet. Stokić remained a constant threat down the right flank, Soffia dominated defensively by shutting down the Bianconere attack, and the trio in midfield of Arrigoni, Mascarello, and Grimshaw dictated the tempo and managed transitions flawlessly. AC Milan move up to 24 points in the standings, on par with Fiorentina, who have a game in hand, and Como Women. The Rossonere are set to face the Lariane at home for their next fixture

In stoppage time, Juventus were awarded a penalty, but Estévez Ogalla stayed calm under pressure and denied Godø from the spot. The first half ended 0-0
