A win would also go a long way towards Georgetown avoiding its third last place Big East finish in the last five seasons (2022, 2023).

Georgetown could also end a 25-game losing streak against Top 25 opponents dating back to 2021.

The first 13 losses in the streak came under former coach Patrick Ewing while Ed Cooley is now 0-12 vs. ranked teams since coming over from Providence, ahead of the 2023-24 season.
