The Pittsburgh Pirates' shortstop phenom, ranked as the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball by every major outlet, has launched a few massive home runs already.
Fans are pumped, because his three home runs have shown the massive upside that Griffin has in his huge SS frame.
It's just important to consider the whole picture, too.

Fantasy analyst Eric Samulski wrote on X, "Not cold water but just a reminder to look beyond the highlights," while pointing out that all three of Griffin's hits this spring are the homers, and that he's 3-for-15 overall.
It's a fair point, and it created some fun dialogue in the replies to Samulski's post.
The general consensus is that Griffin has hit the ball hard even on a handful of his outs and could certainly have more hits than he does so far this spring.
It ended up being a discussion more about the process of evaluating players and not specifically trying to say that Griffin doesn't have immense potential.
If all you've done is watch the highlights of Griffin's three homers, you might think he's the best player on the planet right now. Some Pirates fans would tell you he is.

There's always going to be more growth for a kid who is just 19 years old, though, and that's important to consider, too.
Griffin almost certainly is going to be a great MLB player. Just don't get way too far ahead of yourself at risk of missing important information.
In this case, the important info just seems to be that his outs are loud, too, and that yeah, he's definitely special.
